December 1, 2018. Where did the time go? So much has happened!
As I sit in my Minnesota kitchen, I’m looking out at a semi-snowy backyard. We had about 2″ of snow on Wednesday. Enough to be a nuisance, to make the landscape pretty and clean again, but not really enough to set anyone back. A storm is approaching this afternoon. Maybe 4″ this time? Plowable, as the weather people say. Much more is predicted to the south of Minneapolis. I think I may bury myself in the sewing room this afternoon.

Thursday I spent the day Shop Hopping with my friend Jenni. We drove 336 miles when all was said and done. We met new friends and discovered places we want to go back and visit. If you can make the time (because that’s what you have to do), take a day and go someplace new. We drove from Prior Lake to New Ulm (Sewing Seeds, Spinning Spools and The Thimble Box), then south to Madelia (Prairie Pride Quilts) had an awesome lunch at the VFW next door, continued south to Sherburn (The Old Alley Quilt Shop), then into Iowa to Homespun Quilts in Estherville. Our last stop was in Blue Earth at Michele’s Quilting and Sewing.

Our family is growing again. We’ve added a new son-in-law and new daughter-in-law in the past two years. Now a baby is on the way – our first grandchild! My daughter and her husband are expecting in the spring. I am busy with secret baby-sewing. And loving it. My mother now lives nearby, moving from California earlier this year. My son and his wife relocated to the Twin Cities in June. All of my children now live close by. How great is that?
The other thing that’s happening in December is that I’ve taken the 31 Day Blog Writing Challenge. I think FaceBook and Instagram are great, Pinterest too. But sometimes I need to choose where my time is spent. Let’s see what happens here on the blog this month. Stop back to see what I’m up to!
